to know precisely why
the heart stirs
at the turn of a poem
or with each sip of spiced chocolate
what good does it do
to dissect emotion
like some unfortunate specimen
reeking of death
empty of spirit
is it not enough
to give yourself completely
to the feeling of being lifted
a truth beyond reason
